Description: This beautiful ghost white cicada has milky white wings with a hint of blue green color at the base of itโs scalloped wings.
Male cicadas create sound from structures called tymbals located on the sides of the abdomen. Their singing is created by Contracting and relaxing the internal tymbal muscles which produces a clicking sound as the tymbals curve inwards and again as they relax. The hollow abdomen amplifies the resonance of the sound. A cicada rapidly vibrates these tymbal muscles producing their own unique songs as each species has its own distinctive song.
