Description: Eupholus albofasciatus Gray Banded Weevil Rare Beetle. Rare and very hard to get gray banded weevil from Papua New Guinea. These rare and colorful beetles are never available.
Eupholus is a genus of beetle in the family Curculionidae. These beetles are known as the jewels of the forest. The species include some of the most colorful of the weevils. The color may be a warning to predators that they are distasteful. Most species feed upon yam leaves, some of which are toxic to other animals. Most of the colorful eupholus weevils come from West Irian, Indonesia and adjacent Islands. The Eupholus albofasciatus species occur in Papua New Guinea which is why they are very hard to get.
