Have Questions or need Help?

1st, It's ALL About The Glass!

That's Why We Only Use Tru Vue's Conservation Clear Museum Glass!

First and most importantly we only use museum quality glass that is built into the frames as they are assembled. Did you know that insects mounted into frames that don’t have 99% UV blocking glass will fade with a few months unless you keep them in complete darkness? If you go into most older museums, you may see faded insects simply because they didn’t use 99% UV blocking glass to build their displays. Always check to make sure that that the glass in your display is 99% UV blocking glass. We only use 99% UV Blocking glass inside all of our displays so your butterflies and insects won’t fade over time.

How long will my new displays last?

This is a dilemma that even the greatest museums in the world have grappled with for centuries

Since we are dealing with a product that is created entirely by nature, no one can say for sure exactly how long it will last. What we can say is that we do everything that we possibly can to ensure that they will last up to a lifetime. That’s why in addition to building the glass into the face of the display, we also seal the back with a heavy paper coating to help to prevent outside pests or dust from getting into your display. Also every specimen that we use is treated and stored in sealed containers before mounting.  Each specimen is treated again after mounting them into the displays before they are sealed.

Creating the Finest Museum Quality Displays

Having personally collected insects all my life, I quickly learned that poorly made mass produced frames are not a good way to preserve insects. I learned that the frames had to be sealed to prevent pest infestation and that imported frames for the local hobby store just didn’t work. I decided to design my own shadow box frames where I could build the glass face into the frame (I added UV Blocking glass in 2010 when it first became available). I also created a back that could easily be sealed. My goal was to create an insect display that would prevent fading and sufficiently preserve the specimens for a lifetime!
