Description: Rare hard to get metallic glowing green bee. This bee is an important pollinator for Orchids. The male bee of this species doesn’t have a stinger but when it’s flying it looks live it does since the tip of it’s enormously long proboscis or drink tube is carried bent back on the underside. This proboscis is actually longer than his body and sticks out behind him giving the appearance of a stinger. This bee is commonly known as the orchid bee.
