Interesting Trait: Carcharodon megalodon Large shark tooth. Fossilized shark tooth from Paleocene to the Miocene epoch. Megalodon, meaning “big tooth”, is an extinct species of shark that lived approximately 23 to 3.6 million years ago. C. megalodon was an apex predator of its time, and possibly the largest and most powerful macro-predatory fish that ever lived.
